Actinomycetoma is a mycetomal disease affecting the skin and connective tissue. Mycetomas have two forms: actinomycetoma is the bacterial form, while eumycetoma is caused by fungi.

It is researched by the Mycetoma Research Center, which is part of The University of Khartoum, located in Khartoum, Sudan.

Treatment

One proposed treatment protocol involves gentamicin, cotrimoxazole, and doxycycline.[1]
